Lungi Ngidi available for CSK ! Will CSK make any changes in Playing XI – Match12 Preview CSK vs RR

Almost every Team completed  playing 3 matches with different Teams with different results. Also every team understood their strength and weakness towards the conditions and their opponents, since IPL is a long tournament we cannot predict the play off race until the last game. Now , we will preview the match12 between Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super kings and possible playing XI changes expected in the Wankhede which is provided runfest to the viewers in recent matches.

Head to Head:

Both Teams played 23 matches in IPL from that CSK won 14 games and RR won 9 matches. In IPL 2020, CSK lost the two matches against RR in their previous encounters in UAE.

Previous Match Takeaways:

In this section, we will list out the previous match result and their takeaways from that match, especially players’ form and their approach towards the game irrespective of the result of the match.

For CSK, the return of Deepak Chahar with his wicket taking ability became a big plus for the Team, since IPL 2018 he is the highest wicket taker in the powerplay overs , he shuts all the critics with his bowling performance.

Deepak Chahar was the biggest takeaway for the Team.

His powerplay Bowlinng against Punjab .

For Rajasthan Royals, there were major setbacks in the early stage of the tournament like unavailability of Jofra Archer and currently Ben Stokes ruled out of the tournament due to injury yet they won the game against Delhi Capitals who were currently in Top4 in the tournament , Their biggest positive was the form of two players David Miller and Chris Morries with the bat, David miller will be playing all the upcoming matches with the unavailability of Ben Stokes, hope he justifies his place in Rajasthan Royals.

David Miller batting and Chris Morris finishing were the biggest takeaways for the Team.

His batting performance against Delhi capitals after the early wicket.

Players to Watch out :

Moeen Ali, is the players to watch out for CSK ,he is playing the tournament till date exceptionally well, even in the latest presentation MS Dhoni told that he has to utilise the resource completely to the Team , he is currently playing Suresh Raina’s no :3 spot for that he justifies the hotspot place with his performance. He was clearly using the bowlers pace  and also being a pinch hitter he tries to score with good strike rate irrespective of the early wicket in the Team. With Raina following him in the Team it will become a headache for the opponent Team. Moeen Ali’s position clearly maintains the left -right combination which was missed in IPL 2020 in the entire tournament.  His bowling performance is also quite good so CSK won’t look for another spinner in playingXI especially in fast moving pitches like Mumbai Wankhade.

Rajasthan Royals:

Sanju Samson is the kind of player who has the ability to convert his fifties to 100 easily , especially his knock against Punjab was sensational and lost the game in margin , but his performance is not consistent in previous year IPL, but now he has greater responsibilities in his shoulder as a captain he has to play consistent  in No:3 spot and lead the Team with the bunch of young players available in the squad.

Playing XI changes:

Both Teams were coming from the victory and would likely continue their performance by winning this match .

For CSK, fast bowler Lungi Ngidi is available for selection . Currently, CSK is not having a fast bowler like Ngidi in their playing XI, if he has to play in the place   either Bravo or Faf Du plesis. For me , Faf is the best option is Ngidi replace Faf duplesis it will not affect the batting order , either Moeen Ali or Rayudu can be promoted up the order and CSK can utilise the all rounder ability of Bravo , Curran , Jadeja in the lower middle order.CSK might use Faf’s strength in the slow pitches like Delhi in their upcoming matches. But Mosty CSK will prefer the same XI for the match against Rajasthan Royals and will not change in the winning combination .Also, Team management told that they will continue to back the youngster Ruthuraj irrespective of couple of bad performances.

For RR, their opening combination did not fire much in their previos matches, they used Manan Vohra at the top ,but he failed in two matches , there are chances they might use left right combination at the top by replacing Vohra with under-19 senstaion Yashasvi jaiswal along with Jos Butler.Added that there are too many left hand bowling option in the Team starting from chetan Sakariya, Jayadev Unadkad, Mustafizur with the lot of left handers available in the opponent Team they might prefer to have a right hand bowler in the playing XI along with Morries, though their performance was top in previous matches, if they have option they might replace mustafizur with Andrew Tye.
