Ashwin Home Coming ! Will DC take Revenge against Mumbai Indians ? – DC vs MI Match Preview

Finally, the much awaited battle arrives ,almost we can say  the final of IPL 2020 going to replicate in India with different set of players at different pitch especially the presence of spinners like Mishra, Ashwin in Delhi capitals will be effective for their team, after coming from the pitches like Wankhede bowlers will be starving to add wickets on their purse . But for Mumbai Indians they have a massive advantage compared to DC, since they played three matches with different pitches they knew the conditions better than the visiting Team Delhi Capitals. This is a crucial match for both teams to secure their spot in Top 2 in the points table .

Head to Head:

Both Teams played 28 matches , from these MI leading the battle by winning 16 Matches and other 12 won by Delhi Capitals, in their previous encounter Delhi Capitals lost the final game and also lost the chance of lifting the maiden IPL trophy in the year 2020.

Match Preview:

Both Teams were equally strong and coming from the victory on their previous matches , so they would like to continue their winning triumph in this match .Shikhar Dhawan’s prime form was a great sign for DC but the chepauk pitches behave differently from Mumbai , slightly the ball comes late to the bat though we saw some massive 200+ score for RCB, it happened in Day  game but the game under lights is a nightmare for the batsmans.

Players to Watch :

From Delhi Capitals Ravichandran Ashwin ,is the player to watch out for in terms of Delhi  Capitals not because he is a local boy from Chennai , also he did not get his prime touch in the pitches like wankhade pitches. He got only one wicket (Moeen Ali) against with a bad shot from his previous three matches . So he will be ready to rage against Mumbai Indians who have recently struggled to score against spinners in the chepauk conditions. He would like to initiate his wicket count from his hometown , lets see whether he adapts to his home conditions quickly or not. Surely we can see a lot of turns in the pitch mostly it will be a rank turner  and definitely Delhi capitals  will be playing with two spinners along with Ashwin in the Playing XI .

From Mumbai Indians ,Rohit Sharma is the player to watch , in his previous three matches he was unable to convert his decent start to a huge score . Definitely, DC will  have plans for Rohit Sharma with his leg spin weakness , meanwhile Rohit also will counter attack the opponent with his brilliant batting , hope he will convert the good start to comfortable fifties against Delhi Capitals.

Expected Playing XI changes:

From Mumbai Indians, they might  prefer to  have one change in their foreign slot which was the weak link in their team , the place of Adam Milne. But, he just had one bad over against Bairstow and had a decent comeback in the later stage of the match .Rahul Chahar current form is the greatest boost for the Team. Mostly , MI will have an unchanged winning combination against Delhi capitals.

From Delhi capitals, they might have one change in their team  to bring the combination of two spinners against Mumbai Indians , surely they will replace one Indian fast bowler with Amit Mishra, that will be Lukman Meriwala with due  respect to the conditions in Chepauk . Steve smith’s role will be a key factor for the Team, if the team  goes for an early wicket he must stand still in these kind of slow pitches ,to face the top class bowlers like Bumrah, Boult at the end .

Mumbai Indians Playing XI:

  • Rohit Sharma
  • Quinton De Kock
  • Surya Kumar Yadav
  • Ishan Kishan
  • Kieron Pollard
  • Hardik Pandya
  • Krunal Pandya
  • Adam Milne
  • Rahul Chahar
  • Jasprit Bumrah
  • Trent Boult

Delhi Capitals Playing XI:

  • Shikhar Dhawan
  • Prithvi Shaw
  • Steven Smith
  • Rishabh Pant
  • Marcus Stoinis
  • Lalit yadav
  • Chris Woakes
  • Ravichandran Ashwin
  • Amit Mishra
  • Kagiso Rabada
  • Avesh Khan

Toss and Pitch :

Mostly , the pitch will assist the spinners and the team winning the toss would like to put score on their board by batting first with the previous match results on the Chepauk pitch. 170 will be a winning total for the Team batting first in Chennai.
